DID YOU KNOW: Trinidad Pardo de Tavera
Today, April 13, is the 160th birth anniversary of the historian, writer and political leader Trinidad Pardo de Tavera. Born in Manila, he met Jose Rizal, Marcelo del Pilar and other propagandists while in Europe. He founded the newspaper La Democracia and was a member of the Philippine Commission. He also became director of the National Library and Museum. He died on March 25, 1925. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
