4 cops probing murder killed, 1 hurt in Davao Sur ambush

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur — Four police officers from the Bansalan municipal police and the Davao del Sur provincial scene of crime operatives office were killed while another policeman was injured in an ambush in Barangay Sibayan, Bansalan town early Wednesday.

The policemen were on their way to investigate a killing in Barangay Sibayan when waylaid by still unidentified perpetrators, according to military and police reports.

The slain policemen were identified as PO1 Rolly Benelayo, PO1 Joe Narvaza, PO1 Saro Mangutara – all belonging to the Bansalan police office; and PO3 Jayden May Rabor, a  member of Scene of the Crime Office of the Davao del Sur police.

The wounded was identified as PO3 Allen Arnado.  SFM
