DID YOU KNOW: Metro Manila Popular Music Festival
Members of the music industry and Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) established the Popular Music Foundation on March 8, 1977, to promote and develop Filipino music. The foundation launched the Metro Manila Popular Music Festival (Metropop) which ran from 1977 to 1985 and was re-launched in 1996. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
