Feb. 12, 1998
The municipality of Kidapawan in North Cotabato province was declared a city through Republic Act No. 8500. Its first settlers were the indigenous group Manobo. Kidapawan came from the Manobo words—tida, which means spring, and pawan, which means highland.

Feb. 17, 2010
The Mindanao Development Authority was created through Republic Act No. 9996. The agency, which is based in Davao City, is tasked to promote, coordinate and facilitate the active participation of sectors for the socioeconomic development of Mindanao.

Feb. 17, 2015
The Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag Church in Pangasinan province was proclaimed a minor basilica during a Mass concelebrated by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle and Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales.
