Lion dance performer killed in accident on birthday
PETALING JAYA, Malaysia—An accident robbed the life of a lion dance troupe member on her birthday.
A lorry that went out of control was believed to have crashed into another lorry which was carrying a 14-member lion dance troupe.
The accident occurred at 1.30 p.m. in Sungai Buloh on Wednesday near a shopping mall there.
The troupe was invited to perform at a factory close to the mall.
At the time of the accident, 18-year-old Choo Heng Poh was said to be off-loading equipment to prepare for a performance.
A lorry behind them is said to have lost control and rammed into their lorry, injuring three.

Article continues after this advertisementThe other two male victims, ages 17 and 19, survived the accident.
A Chinese daily reported that the driver who caused the accident had tried to flee the scene but was caught by a few members of the troupe.
The daily also reported both the 70-year-old driver and his attendant were at the hospital and went on their knees to beg for forgiveness from the Choo’s family./rga
