Cop held for rape of factory worker

SAN PEDRO CITY—A policeman assigned to the intelligence unit of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) regional police was arrested and charged for allegedly raping a factory worker in Calamba City in Laguna province, police said.

In a report, Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon police spokesperson, said Insp. Aaron Cabillan, 29, was arrested around midnight Monday.

She said policemen on patrol approached a car parked behind a supermarket in Barangay Canlubang and saw the suspect naked with a woman inside.

Gaoiran said the 34-year-old woman screamed for help when she saw the policemen.

The woman, in her statement to the police, said she was on her way home to Barangay Paciano at 11 p.m. when Cabillan drove by and forced her into his car.
