Science teacher appeals for help for 8-year-old son stricken with leukemia

When Erville Jush Daniel Tablizo was first diagnosed with anemia in 2013, his parents sought a second opinion. The news, however, turned out to be more dire after his doctor said he has acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

“Watch out for dark spots on his skin. If you see any, it’s leukemia,’ the doctor told us. The following day, I got goosebumps when I saw the spots,” Erville’s father Erwin told the Inquirer.

Over the past years, the boy, now eight years old, has undergone chemotherapy 11 times. Erville, who is the eldest of Erwin’s three children with wife Joy, needs three more sessions, each one costing P35,000.

The 35-year-old Erwin is a general science teacher at San Miguel Development High School in San Miguel, Catanduanes province.

The couple has been asking for help from lawmakers including Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, in paying their son’s medical bills. “I’m relying on the kindness of your readers. May God bless them,” Erwin said.
