Thousands stranded in CDO as heavy rains spawn floods

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Thousands of people are stranded as heavy rain since Monday afternoon caused flooding in the city’s main streets.

Among those stranded have been students in universities, including those in the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines where floodwater has been chest-deep.

In Iligan City, the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management office has ordered residents living along riverbanks to evacuate.

Rescue teams have been deployed to assist the people to evacuate to a safer place in Iligan City.  SFM
