Chinese cohort of ex-PDEA exec Marcelino surrenders to NBI

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Aguirre on Wednesday announced the surrender of Yan Yi Shuo, the alleged companion of Marine Lt. Col. Ferdinand Marcelino in the illegal drugs case filed by the agency.

“We are proud to announce that Yan Yi Shuo a.k.a Randy is now under the custody of the NBI. This is a welcome development insofar as our pursuit of this case is concerned,” Aguirre said.

Yan, also known as Randy, surrendered to National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday night following Marcelino’s submission 12 noon of the same day.

The Chinese national surrendered to NBI Special Task Force headed by Head Agent Moises Tamayo. The Special Task Force was established by NBI Director Dante Gierran to handle delicate duties of similar nature.

The DOJ accused Marcelino and Yan of violating Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
