No info on threats to Jaybee Sebastian’s life–Aguirre

There is no solid information about the actual threats to high profile convict Jaybee Sebastian’s life, according to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II.

During a phone patch interview with reporters on Wednesday, Aguirre admitted they just had information that Sebastian’s life was in danger.

“This is why I ordered an investigation to confirm the so-called threats to his life,” Aguirre said.

He tasked the Bureau of Corrections to conduct an investigation and confirm the threats to Sebastian’s life.

“If it is not true, then he will be returned to the New Bilibid Prison. The arrangement is very temporary,” Aguirre said.

The justice chief said he approved Sebastian’s request since there was no objection from BuCor Chief Benjamin delos Santos.

However, Aguirre refused to name the inmates whom Sebastian named as those responsible for the alleged threats.

Hindi ko na siguro sasabihin, lalo lang gugulo siguro ‘pag sinabi ko mga pangalan (I won’t say, it might just get more confusing if I reveal the names).”

When asked if the threats were due to Sebastian’s testimony in Congress, Aguirre said he was not ruling out the possibility.

Sebastian was transferred from BuCor to NBI on Tuesday night.
