‘Amihan’ brings cold weather

/ 02:34 AM December 20, 2016

Expect a particularly cold Christmas in northern and central Luzon, and rainy holidays elsewhere in the country, due to the northeast monsoon (“amihan”).

In its weather update on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the northeast monsoon was affecting northern and central Luzon.
“Expect colder weather in these areas,” said Pagasa forecaster Aldczar Aurelio.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol, eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao regions, and Quezon province, the weather bureau said.

Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over the Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and Aurora province, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Pagasa said. —JAYMEE GAMIL
