Cebu booters ousted in UFL tourney
THE CEBU Queen City United (CQCU) bowed out of the United Football Cup 2011-2012 of the United Football League (UFL) after losing to Pachanga FC, 0-4, yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
With the setback, the Cebu team, which was put up a month ago, finished winless in the tournament.
For its first outing, CQCU had to contend being grouped with the defending champions Global FC and Visayas strong teams in Pachanga FC and Stallions FC.
CQCU’s fighting spirit was never more evidenced by its showing yesterday against Pachanga FC.
Although they lost, they had more ball possession than the opponent, said the team’s head coach Mario Ceniza.
They had more corner kicks than Pachanga but were never able to convert these to goals.
