lottoIt took 20 years, but a 70-year-old market vendor’s habit of placing lotto bets finally paid off when he went home with the jackpot.

With a bet of P60, the vendor from San Juan City picked at random the winning number combination of 09-10-21-31-41-02 in the 6/42 Lotto draw on Oct. 22 which earned him P27.5 million.

When he claimed his prize earlier this week at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office main office in Mandaluyong City, the lucky bettor told PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan that he would use the money to put up a business, give some away to his wife and children and put the rest in a bank.

Balutan jokingly advised him to keep his good fortune a secret from his relatives as they may start flocking to his house./rga
