Duterte signs EO to address poverty

President Duterte has signed  Executive Order No. 5 adopting the National Economic and Development Authority’s “Ambisyon Natin 2040” developments goals to “create a predominantly middle-class society where no one is poor” in 24 years.

The program also envisioned  Filipinos to “live long and healthy lives; be smart and innovative, and  live in a high-trust society.”

The concrete goals of the program is to triple the country’s per capita income and wipe out hunger and poverty by 2040 or sooner.  —GIL CABACUNGAN
