ANS off to hot start in Pintaflores Invt’l
The Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy opened its campaign on a high note with a 3-2 edging of the Barotac Nuevo Iloilo in yesterday’s start of the U-16 football competition of the 4th Pintaflores National Invitational Tournament in San Carlos City .
ANS Pomeroy controlled the match from start to finish but had to contend with the counter attacks by Barotac.
Barotac scored the first goal with just 10 minutes in the ballgame. ANS equalized 12 minutes later courtesy of Kerth Ryan Arranguez. The first half ended at 1-all.
In the second half, Pedro Agustin Diao put ANS ahead at 2-1 in the 57th minute. However, Barotac put the game at 2-all in the 75th minute. At the 80th minute, head coach Francis Ramirez decided to substitute Jesson Batayola with Patrick Polistico. His decision proved to be right, as five minutes later, Polistico assisted Diao in scoring ANS third goal with a cross from the right.
In other games, San Carlos City blanked Bukidnon Football Association, 10-0, while Negros Oriental Football Association Dumaguete defeated Don Bosco Victorias, 3-1.
