Metro bus catches fire along Quezon highway; no one hurt

LUCENA CITY—A Metro Manila-bound passenger bus caught fire along the Maharlika Highway in Atimonan town in Quezon province early Sunday, police said.

Chief Insp. Rizaly Merene, Atimonan police chief, said no one among the bus’ nine passengers was hurt in the incident that happened at 4 a.m. in the village of Angeles.

Merene said the driver of a truck that overtook the bus notified its driver of smoke coming from under the vehicle.
