Man stabs peacemaker
A frustrated homicide case has been filed against a Somali national who allegedly stabbed his Kenyan friend after the latter did not back him up during a drunken argument in a bar on Sunday.
The stabbing incident happened at the Central Park Condominium unit of suspect Mohamed Ali Haji Nooh, 29, located on Jorge Street in Pasay City, case investigator SPO1 Lorene Osias said yesterday.
Together with other friends, Mohamed went to a bar in Malate, Manila, at 1 a.m. Sunday with victim Evans Kipchirchir Maru, 26, a Kenyan residing in Tolentino West, Tagaytay City.
When Mohamed got into an argument with other people during their drinking session, Maru stepped in and pacified him.
The two later went home to Mohamed’s condo where he confronted Maru and accused him of being one-sided for not backing him up.
During the confrontation, Mohamed allegedly stabbed Maru with a kitchen knife which was later recovered by the police.
Article continues after this advertisementMaru was able to flee from the suspect and seek assistance from the condo security personnel. Members of the Central Park police community precinct responded and arrested Mohamed who underwent inquest for frustrated homicide.
