Sen. Grace Poe on Tuesday hailed the Supreme Court’s decision upholding her status as a natural-born Filipino, as she expressed hope that this would finally put the issue to rest.

“I welcome the decision of the Supreme Court in dismissing the baseless petition questioning the final decision of the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) which previously ruled in favor of my qualifications as senator of our people,” Poe said in a statement.

“I laud the court in affirming my status, and in effect all other foundlings in the country, as natural-born Filipinos, with full rights to serve the nation. I sincerely hope that this will put the issue to rest, and that all foundlings be given due recognition each of us deserves,” she added.
