The Department of National Defense (DND) has granted the request of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to transfer  high-profile inmates from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) to facilities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

“Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana has favorably acted on the request of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II to provide space for inmates who will be transferred from BuCor to facilities under the AFP,” the DND said in a statement on Friday.

The BuCor will take charge of the transportation, logistics and resources involved in the transfer of the inmates, it added.
