Customs centralizes operations
THE BUREAU of Customs (BOC) has established a command center to monitor and coordinate operations at all its districts, especially with regard to trade facilitation and border control.
In a statement, the BOC said the command center would provide its officials information on the situation in all collection districts.
“Ease in getting valuable information is expected, as it is tasked to collate information on significant events and activities of all collection districts and subports, law enforcement and regulating agencies, customs stakeholders and open source media,” the BOC said in a statement.
Through the command center, the monitoring, coordination and supervision of the different aspects of customs administration would be easier, the BOC said.
The center will also be the coordinating facility of the Operations Group in the collection of duties and taxes, enforcement of customs laws, prevention of all forms of fraud, and other illegal activities at all ports of entry.
