2 on drug watch list killed in Pasig attacks
Two men who police said were on their drug watch list were killed in separate attacks by unidentified gunmen in Pasig City on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
Marlon Abitong, 34, died after four assailants in black jackets and helmets shot him while he was doing the laundry just outside his house on Magsaysay Street, Barangay Manggahan, around1 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Eastern Police District.
Senior Supt. Orlando Yebra, Jr., the Pasig police chief, described Abitong as a suspected drug user in the area.
The victim also had a drug case pending against him, his relatives said.
Also in Pasig, Eduardo Francisco, a 39-year-old a resident of Barangay Rosario, was gunned down around 11:35 p.m.Tuesday by two men on a motorbike, according to a report also reaching Yebra.
Francisco was rushed by a rescue team to Rizal Medical Center, where he was declared dead an hour later. Like Abitong, Francisco was also on the village watch list, the police said. Jodee A. Agoncillo
