Traffic officer critical after being shot in Lapu-Lapu City

CEBU CITY, Philippines—Lapu-Lapu City’s traffic chief Frank Brazil was in critical condition after he was shot by unidentified assailants on board a single motorcycle on the  roadside of the City Traffic Management System (CTMS) office in Barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday.
Brazil was shot thrice in the back and was immediately brought by his staff to Mactan Doctors Hospital.
He was transferred to University of Cebu Medical Center in Mandaue City because no surgeon was available.
Police were investigating the incident and tracking down the perpetrators. Lapu-Lapu City has just started enforcing the apprehension of undocumented tricycles and passenger jeepneys.
