Leyte town mayor linked to drugs surrenders to Dela Rosa

The mayor of Albuerta town in Leyte allegedly involved in illegal drugs has surrendered to Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Malacañang confirmed Tuesday.

Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said Ronaldo Espinosa Sr. was now under the custody of De la Rosa.

Abella, however, said Espinosa’s son, Kerwin, was still at large.

No other details were provided by the Palace official while the PNP has yet to issue a statement.

On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte demanded the surrender of Espinosa and his son within 24 hours on grounds of drug-trafficking and coddling.
