4.7-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

A MAGNITUDE 4.7 earthquake struck Sison town in Surigao del Norte province on Tuesday night, state seismologist reported.

In an update, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor was recorded at 10:29 p.m.

It has depth of five kilometers.

Phivolcs said that Intensity V was felt in Surigao City while Intensity III was felt in San Francisco and Limasawa towns in Southern Leyte.

After shocks are expected, it added.
