Indian boy fed on dog milk for 6 years
A 10-year-old mute boy from Jharkhand, India, was bitten by a stray dog after he tried to suck milk from a canine.
Mohit Kumar is an ordinary boy who had an “unusual” habit of feeding on dog’s milk that made his parents drop him out of school.
Kumar developed the habit of being “breastfed” by dogs at the age of 4 and this went on for six years, the Times of India and International Business Times reported. His parents incessantly tried to wean him from his weird habit.
Due to financial constraints, Mohit’s parents never brought him to any doctor. They also ceased their son’s schooling for fear people would prejudge his strange habit. Although the mute lad is “grounded” most of the time, he flees when his parents are away, and neighbors would report to them if Mohit “victimized” another stray dog in the area.
Pinky Kumari, Mohit’s mother, who a domestic helper, told Times of India: “Once Mohit was playing with stray dogs outside their house and happened to suck on the breasts of a bitch. Since then he does the same whenever he gets a chance to do so. Bitches of the area have also taken a liking to him and feed him whenever Mohit wants them to.” Mohit’s father, Subedar Singh, an ambulant fruit juice seller.
Mohit is now taking medication to combat rabies infection at Patliputra Medical College Hospital. No medicine was given to the young boy to halt his sucking habit.
