Don’t watch, share video of Hall’s beheading, PNP urges public
THE Philippine National Police has urged the public to refrain from viewing and sharing the video of Abu Sayyaf bandits beheading Canadian national Robert Hall on social media.
“We appeal to public not to share the video on social media. These are terroristic acts that should not be patronized by anybody,” PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor said in a press briefing on Wednesday.
Mayor reminded netizens not to patronize the video of the victim and those previously executed by the Abu Sayyaf as these are being spread by the bandits for propaganda purposes.
He said the PNP’s Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) is studying and gathering information from the video of Hall’s beheading.
“The ACG is getting information from the video. Nakikita natin personalities through this video. We’ll collate everything then we will give it to the operating troops,” the police spokesperson added.
