Naia passenger carrying 3 bullets charged, released

/ 12:16 AM May 02, 2016

A 34-YEAR-OLD woman was charged in the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office over the weekend after three bullets were found in her bag at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3. However, she was released for further investigation.

Marichel Broma, from Biñan in Laguna province, arrived from Cagayan de Oro City around 4 p.m. on Saturday. She had already left the terminal building when she decided to go back inside to get a regular cab at the departure area instead of the more expensive airport-accredited taxis at the arrival area.

Aviation Security Group-National Capital Region chief Senior Supt. Adolfo Samala Jr. said that when Broma went through the security screening checkpoint, the Office for Transportation Security X-ray machine operator found three .357-cal. bullets in her bag.

She was brought to the prosecutor’s office and charged with illegal possession of ammunition but Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Theodore Villanueva decided to release her for further investigation.
