Japanese national drowns in Cebu beach resort

MANILA, Philippine – A foreigner drowned in a beach resort in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu Monday, a report reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Michio Morishita, 53, a Japanese national, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz, PNP spokesman, said.

Morishita was swimming in Hadsan Beach Resort of Barangay (village) Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City around 3 p.m. when he drowned.

He was rushed to the Mactan Doctor’s Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Morishita’s remains were brought to Rolling Hills Funeral Services for autopsy.
