THE Dark Team turned to the deadly shooting of Cebu Eastern College sniper Marvin Bauya to post a close, 84-80, victory in the juniors division all star game during yesterday’s 2011 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc.(CESAFI) basketball tournament All Star Event at the Cebu Coliseum.

Bauya scored 17 points marked by five triples that lifted his squad to victory and the bragging rights for the entire year. For his efforts, Bauya was awarded a trophy, a mobile phone by Globe and a mouthguard.

The Dark Team actually started off sluggishly as it fell behind, 14-22, after the opening canto. However, they recovered in the ensuing period by outscoring the Light Team, 25-16, for a 39-38 halftime lead.

The Light Team though, did not fold up easily in the fourth period as Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu star center Julius Cadavis imposing his will down low with 11 markers. Nikko Otadoy of Cebu Institute of Technology-University and Rommel Diapera of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation also combined for 16 to help the team keep Dark within striking distance.
