Cops’ row over ‘performance’ leads to gunfight

AN ARGUMENT between two lawmen inside the Eastwood station of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) escalated into a gunfight on Wednesday afternoon, leaving both of them wounded and a third policeman in critical condition.

A report sent to the QCPD headquarters said that PO1 Rollsmith Ducusin, a patrolman, and PO2 Teejay Valdez, an administrative officer, had previously argued about attendance and performance.

The QCPD public information office said a gunfight erupted around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when the two met in the hallway of the police station.

Ducusin was hit in the right arm while Valdez was wounded in the abdomen.

Probers from the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit have started looking into the incident.
