2 bomb suspects nabbed in Zambo
ZAMBOANGA CITY — Two suspected bombers were arrested at Sangil Port here on Sunday.
Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, spokesperson for the Zamboanga City police office, said the suspects were caught with a bomb-making ingredient.
But Galvez would not identify the suspects or how they were arrested.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Salazar said the suspects were carrying 2 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, which is also used as fertilizer.
Salazar said she was commending the intelligence community of the city and members of the Task Force Zamboanga, a multiagency group that helps monitor terror threats in the city.
She said she also wanted to “look deeper” into the identities and background of the arrested suspects. Julie S. Alipala, Inquirer Mindanao
