Duterte to take things easy a day after experiencing migraine
DAVAO CITY–Presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte will have to skip his meetings and campaign set on Friday to take a medical rest.
Pete Laviña, spokesman of the Duterte camp, said that the tough-talking mayor will take the day off from campaigning because of his persisting migraine.
“After his week-long sorties in Tarlac, Metro Manila, and Tuguegarao, our presidential candidate Rody Duterte fell ill yesterday and had migraine. He had to skip his meeting with doctors in Ortigas as he was advised to take a rest. His vice presidential running mate Sen. Alan Cayetano ably filled in for him,” Laviña said.

“He will continue his rest (Friday) and there had been advisory to reset his scheduled meetings with two groups in Davao City (also on Friday),” he added.
Laviña asserted that the condition of the controversial mayor is not a secret and that he was able to fulfill his duties and even his listening tours despite his headaches.
“Duterte has been very frank and open about his health. He had gone through over a year in his Listening Tour and leading to this campaign and he has exhibited high spirits and good health in spite of the rigors of these road trips. This is a clear proof of this ability and capability health-wise to continue on in his quest for genuine change for a better life for our fellow Filipinos here and abroad,” Laviña said.
Despite the mayor’s absence in his Friday’s schedule, the Duterte and Cayetano campaign will still continue as scheduled, Laviña said.
