Broadcaster ‘Neil Ocampo’ apprehended for drunk driving
MANILA, Philippines — A man who introduced himself as broadcast journalist Neil Ocampo was apprehended by traffic control operators of the Manila Toll Expressway System early Friday for driving under the influence of alcohol, a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said Friday.
Quoting the officcers, the report said the man was taking the northbound lane along the Sta. Rosa Toll Plaza to Manila with his Mitsubishi Adventure (WTD-378) at about 6 a.m. when they noticed the vehicle swerving.
When the officers stopped him, the man showed a press ID with the name Neil Ocampo on it, the report said.
Believing he was the real deal, the officers decided to give “Ocampo” some time to sleep in his car before issuing him a traffic violation ticket, the report said.
However, after checking with Ocampo’s officemates the officers found out that the so-called broadcaster was a fake, the report said.
