The Court of Appeals has upheld with finality the Office of the Ombudsman’s dismissal of Special Prosecutor Dennis Villa-Ignacio who was found guilty in 2010 due to serious dishonesty by faking his attendance records.

In a two-page resolution dated Jan. 13, the appellate court’s Former Ninth Division, saying it found no substantial arguments to warrant the reversal of its previous ruling, denied Villa-Ignacio’s motion for reconsideration for lack of merit.

The decision was written by Justice Myra Garcia-Fernandez.
