PNP: Security measures all set for Pia Wurtzbach’s homecoming
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said security measures in preparation for the scheduled homecoming and grand parade of reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach next week were already in place.

In a statement, the PNP said Director General Ricardo Marquez has ordered the National Capital Region Police Office for the overall security, peace and order and emergency preparedness all throughout Wurtzbach’s activities.
The PNP said a multi-agency coordinating center and police assistance desks will be established “in all areas of engagement and billeting hotels.”
“The PNP appeals for public’s cooperation for a peaceful and orderly homecoming for the country’s pride,” the statement read.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Thursday released Wurtzbach’s parade route on Jan. 25, which will start at 2 p.m.

Article continues after this advertisementAmong the roads and establishments that will be affected by the beauty queen’s activities include Hotel Sofitel to V. Sotto and Jalandoni, Bukaneg, Roxas Boulevard, Padre Burgos, N. Lopez, A. Villegas to Taft Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Buendia and Ayala Avenues, the Makati Fire Station, Rustan’s Makati, and Novo Hotel along Edsa.
Wurtzbach will also have a homecoming show at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City. Furthermore, she was scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the President at Malacañang, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and Metro Manila mayors. YG/RAM
