Duterte says he has not received invite from NPC
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Davao City Mayor and presidential bet Rodrigo Duterte said he didn’t receive any invitation from the Nationalist People’s Coalition for a meeting.
He told a news conference in Cebu City that it was the first time he heard about it when asked by a television reporter about the statement of NPC that its leaders wanted to hear Duterte’s platform of governance.
“Until now, no invitation has been extended to me to attend any meetings or even somebody from them talking to me,” he said.
Duterte admitted that being a politician, one had to be a “political animal.”
“If you find there is something in common with you, of course, you’d be ready to talk,” he said. “If we do not stand on the same level, same plane, mahirap yan (it’s difficult).”
Duterte said he never hid his leftist beliefs and his opposition to contractualization.

“In the long run, it (contractualization) will not be good for the country and for the people. If we can never understand each other on that point, we can never be together,” Duterte said. SFM
