Amid DQ cases, Grace Poe optimistic for 2016
Senator Grace Poe on Thursday said she remained optimistic for the election year ahead despite the barrage of disqualification cases lodged against her.
In a statement, Poe, a presidential bet in the 2016 elections, said she greets the future with optimism especially as the next presidential elections draws near.
“In 2016, we shall have the national elections that would allow the people to choose the leaders who will steer this nation. We greet this unfolding future with optimism,” Poe said.
Poe said she spent the year as a neophyte senator working for the passage of the Freedom of Information bill in the Senate, as well as investigating the dire state of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3).
The lady senator said she hoped the issues that divide the nation may be set aside next year.

Poe was disqualified by the Commission on Elections for failing to meet the residency period as well as for failing to meet a natural-born status. She has elevated the issue to the Supreme Court.
Poe’s natural-born status, a requirement for presidential candidates, had been questioned because she was a foundling.
