THE METRO Manila Film Festival (MMFF) was created by virtue of the Metro Manila Commission Executive Order No. 86-09, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation Nos. 1459, 1485, 1533, 1533-A and 1647 and launched in December 1974. An executive committee headed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair and composed of key members of the film industry supervises this annual event. Last February, the MMDA inaugurated the MMFF Cinema located in its headquarters in Makati City. The building houses the MMFF library, Secretariat Office, a classroom and a 120-seat theater.
