Suspected drug peddler arrested in Iloilo
ILOILO CITY—Police operatives arrested an alleged drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in his house in Zone 5, Barangay (village) Tacas in Jaro district, Iloilo City about 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
Seized from Arnold Sumagaysay, 40, were 66 sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with street value of P20,000, marked money worth P600, a homemade shotgun, five magazines of M16 armalite riffle and six live ammunitions of caliber 357.
Senior Insp. Christopher Rodriguez of Iloilo City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (CAIDSOTF) described Sumagaysay as “a notorious (drug) personality” who sourced the shabu from Metro Manila and sold these in Jaro.
“The subject was also involved in a robbery hold-up two weeks ago in one of the subdivisions here,” said Rodriguez.
Authorities were still verifying if Sumagaysay had pending warrants of arrest.
Sumagaysay was convicted in a murder case in 1997 but was freed on parole.
