Police: Taguig’s Top 10 drug traffickers no longer a threat
THE ARREST of the city’s 10 most wanted drug traffickers means that the youth will be less exposed to the illegal substance, the Taguig local government said the other day, calling it its biggest achievement this year.
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano said the last one to be placed behind bars was former Marine Alfonso Dacqual who was third on the list. He was arrested on Oct. 1.
According to Taguig City police chief Senior Supt. Arthur Felix, Dacquel and his wife Shiena Joyce were caught in a drug bust in their house in Barangay Central Signal Village.
Recovered from the couple were six plastic sachets of what was believed to be “shabu” with an estimated value of P150,000.
“This is extremely good news. Everyone in the Top 10 has been barred from flooding our streets with drugs. This means our citizens, especially our children, will now have decreased exposure to this menace,” Cayetano said.
The city’s top two drug personalities—Michael Butch and Sancho Espiritu—were arrested in August and September, respectively. Maricar B. Brizuela
