Passengers stranded in Cebu, Bohol ports
CEBU CITY—Close to 1,600 passengers were stranded in the ports of Cebu City and Tagbilaran City in Bohol after Coast Guard suspended trips of smaller vessels due to gale warning issued by the weather bureau.
Affected were three vessels docked at Cebu City port including Manila-bound MV St. John Paul of 2Go which was loaded with 1,260 passengers.
Also affected were fast craft bound for Bohol and Leyte.
In Tagbilaran City, fast crafts bound for Cebu and Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental and small vessels plying various ports in the province were affected.
Flor Lawangon of Wow Bohol Travel and Tours said her guests cancelled their trip to Bohol due to the weather condition.
“I have six guests today from Cebu but they were not able to take the fast craft bound for Tagbilaran because [the trip] was cancelled,” said Lawangon.
She also said that some of her guests also cancelled their tour in Balicasag and Pamilacan Islands for dolphin watching and island hopping due to rough seas. CDG
