Chito Miranda turns down P2-M offer to promote presidential bet
ROCK band vocalist Chito Miranda on Tuesday admitted that he was offered P2 million to promote a presidential candidate for the 2016 elections, but declined the offer.
“I was offered P2M to tweet for a presidential candidate. Di ko tinanggap kasi gusto ko suportahan si Duterte o si Miriam kahit walang bayad,” Miranda said in a Twitter post.
As of posting time, his tweet had 3,300 retweets and 5,400 favorites.
On Tuesday, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago announced her presidential bid, saying she already survived her battle with cancer.
“If I become President sometime in the very near future, this country will be much better than it was before,” Santiago said, saying she already has a vice president, which she declined to identify.
Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly said that he is not interested in running for president.

The filing of certificate of candidacy started on October 12 and would end on October 16. NC
