Metro, environs pummeled by rain Tuesday

Thunderstorms dumped heavy rain in parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces at noon Tuesday.

A thunderstorm affected Pateros, Taguig, Pasig, Marikina and portions of Quezon City, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in an advisory at 12:40 p.m.

Parts of Rizal (Pililla, Tanay, Baras, Angono, Taytay), Bulacan (San Jose, Sta Maria) ‪Laguna (San Pablo, Magdalena, Nagcarlan, Pila, Sta Cruz), Batangas (Mataas na Kahoy, Cuenca, Alitagtag, San Pascual, Lipa) and southern Quezon were also hit by thunderstorms.

This may continue in the next two hours, Pagasa said.
The weather bureau also warned the public to watch out for heavy rain, strong winds, lightning and possible flash floods.
