2 killed as motorbike plunges off Magallanes flyover
Two men on a motorcycle were killed after their bike fell off the Magallanes flyover in Makati City on Friday.
The fatalities were identified by the police as Elmer Cahigas, 39, the driver; and his passenger Ruel Paruc, 33. The initial investigation showed that the two were headed toward Edsa-Ayala around 1 p.m. when the bike went wayward, hit the railing and then fell over, landing on a vacant lot.
Paruc was brought to Pasay City General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, while Cahigas was rushed to Ospital ng Makati where he was declared clinically dead.
According to SPO2 Rommel Salvador, Cahigas was apparently speeding before he lost control, as can be deduced from the distance of the victims’ bodies relative to the spot where the bike landed. Kristine Felisse Mangunay/RC
