From hawking vegetables in the public market, a woman from Tondo, Manila, may now be able to put up her own grocery store after winning the P30.1-million jackpot in the Aug. 19 Mega Lotto 6/45 draw.

The 50-year-old vendor was the only bettor who picked the winning number combination 01-07-14-28-44-45.

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) vice chair and general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said the woman had regularly placed bets for the last two decades on the numbers which she had picked at random.

She claimed her prize at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday, Rojas added.

The Mega Lotto has a minimum guaranteed prize of P9 million. The jackpot prize reached over P30 million after no one guessed the winning number combinations in the last 10 draws. Jovic Yee
