LUCENA CITY – Quezon Governor David Suarez has left the discretion of suspending classes to local government officials as typhoon “Falcon” continues to move over the Philippine Sea, dumping heavy rain over most of Metro Manila and nearby areas.

“Since not all towns in Quezon have been experiencing strong rains, Governor Suarez left the decision to suspend school classes to the officials of local governments,” said provincial information officer Janet Buelo.

According to Buelo, there was no report of rain in most part of Quezon as of noon Thursday, except for some town in the northern section of the province.

In Lucena City, however, at least five private schools have decided to suspend classes in all levels even with only intermittent rains experienced Thursday.
