Caretaker killed in NGO office robbery

/ 06:21 AM June 17, 2015

The office caretaker employed by a nongovernment organization (NGO) based in Quezon City was found dead with multiple stab wounds at his workplace Monday morning.

Staff members of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ), which holds office on Matapat Street, Barangay (village) Pinyahan, found the body of Ericson Dizon near the office gate. Investigators cited robbery as the apparent motive for the killing.

According to Insp. Elmer Monsalve, chief of the Quezon City Police District’s homicide division, the PMCJ office was also ransacked, with several office equipment missing. Monsalve on Tuesday said the QCPD already had leads on the suspect, whose name was withheld so as not jeopardize the ongoing manhunt operation.–Jaymee T. Gamil
