Benguet to experience 12-hour power interruption

Parts of Benguet will experience a 12-hour power interruption on Thursday, according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Affected areas include Poblacion Itogon, Ampucao, UCAB, Gumatdang, Virac, Loacan, Tinongdan, Dalupirip, parts of Kiat, Tuding Itogon.

“Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion. NGCP customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption,” NGCP said in its advisory.

The power outage was scheduled to allow the annual preventive maintenance and testing of a 30-megavolt transformer located at the Itogon substation, a Radyo Inquirer 990AM report said. INQUIRER.net trainee Sheen Limbo/KS
