3 PNP officials relieved in Central Luzon for failing in anti-crime drive

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Philippines —- Three police officials in Central Luzon were relieved on Thursday due to findings of their allegedly poor performance in the renewed anti-criminality drive “Lambat-Sibat,” an official said.

Chief Supt. Ronald Santos, regional police director, announced the immediate relief of Supt. Marcos Rivero of Marilao city in Bulacan, Senior Insp. Marlo Dangarang of Abucay town in Bataan, and Supt. Rechie Duldulao of the city of San Fernando in Pampanga.

Santos said the relief of the officers came after Director Ricardo Marquez, head of the Philippine National Police’s directorate for operations, instructed him to identify and commend police officers who performed remarkably and list those who “fell short of expectations” in the last 11 weeks of Oplan Lambat-Simbat.

Without citing figures, Santos said crime incidents in Central Luzon dropped by almost 30 percent. SFM/ABC
