2 Philippine Air Force men get 18 years for graft
THE SANDIGANBAYAN anti-graft court Wednesday convicted two retired Air Force officers of graft and malversation charges for allowing the sale of four generators at a price below their actual value in 2002.
The Sandiganbayan Third Divison sentenced Brigadier General Vladimir de los Trinos and Major Antonio Garcia to a minimum of 18 years and maximum of 27 years imprisonment.
The court also ordered them to pay a fine of P1.2 million, and to pay the government another P1.2 million.
The two co-accused of De los Trinos and Garcia, engineer Dante Senen and businessman Antonio Ularte, are at large. The court ordered the issuance of arrest warrants against them.
The court said De los Trinos and Garcia were liable for allowing Ularte to buy four generators for P800,000 when they could have sold it for P1.2 million.
